Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD (360): COMPLETED!

With one character, at least: all cash and goals on all levels GET! That’s not the end though – oh no. There’s never really an end to proper Tony Hawk’s games anyway, but as well as having other skaters to play as, completing the game also unlocks a new game mode: PROjectives. This is a new set of very hard objectives for each level. I’ve done all of them for The Warehouse already though 🙂 Besides doing that, I boosted …

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground (360)

So I got my subwoofer working today. Good grief does it make a difference! Every skate-check gets a heavy thump, bailing makes a deep crunch, even aggro kicking gets a meaty whoomph from the speaker. Excellent! As far as the game went, I (again) beat a few more street challenges, and then mopped up some more Classic and Hawk-Man goals. The Museum Classic goals were bloody difficult, although really shouldn’t have been. Could I natas spin the switches to turn …

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground (360)

Yes, I did skip two days of playing games. I was busy! Mainly with resurrecting the dead. But then I came back… to Tony. Again. Can’t stay away. So I thought I’d have a crack the Uber Goals again, and managed the Hardcore one without a problem. I haven’t attempted the Rigger one at all yet, and the Pro one? Not looking forward to trying that again. It was hard! Also completed some more street goals and improved a few …

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground (360)

With more stats built up (everything bar wallride and spin), I had another go at Mike V’s huge gap thing – and managed it first time. Ditto for the few gaps he asked me to nail afterwards too. That opened up a load more of stuff in the Hardcore story. Completed all of Dustin’s “missions”, most of which involved “skate checking” – punching people as I skated round. I then did a few Classic goals, and went off to build …

Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground (Demo) (360)

Oh my! First skate. and now this! Amazing! Firstly, let me just say one thing: TONY HAWK AND SKATE ARE NOT THE SAME TYPE OF GAME. It really annoys me when people say that TH games are redundant now that skate. is here, and it does everything TH games should have done long ago. This is not true. Tony Hawk’s Proving Ground is, like all TH games, an arcade game. skate. is a simulation. Like how Gran Turismo isn’t Outrun …

Tony Hawk’s American Wasteland (360)

Finished off the Oil Rig by collecting some more bits for the skate park, and then skated back to the park myself to fix the crane with my spray can. No, really. After that, it was back off to Downtown to try and join the Black Widowz, which involved getting myself a tattoo, then spending aaaaaages trying the “manual through the million flags” challenge (which was really hard as I couldn’t keep up my momentum, until I realised I could …

Tony Hawk’s Project 8 (360)

Racked up a few more rank upgrades today, finishing another Pro challenge, another Classic goal set (on Pro, anyway), and also improving some more existing goals. Now I’m up to rank 54! I then had a go online, hosting a load of Graffiti games. I won the first couple, one of which gave me the “Beat a Developer” achievement. That was easier than I expected it was going to be! I didn’t will all of my games (of which there …

Tony Hawk’s Skateboarding (DC)

I’ve aborted playing THPS2 for the DC for the time being, since my copy of this (otherwise known as THPS on other platforms) arrived today and it makes sense to play it first. Yeah, I played and completed the N-Gage version earlier this year, but this version is much better. It isn’t on the N-Gage for a start… Anyway. Played and got all of the goals in the Warehouse, and have managed to pick up a couple on the School …

Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land (GBA): COMPLETED! AGAIN!

Well, that’s all of the Classic levels out of the way now too. Only one goal gave me any grief – the COMBO goal on the final level (The Warehouse). After getting the C, you have to jump, then grind an invisible rail, then jump again and grind immediately. Obviously, they thought adding an invisible rail would up the difficulty somewhat. Tch. Anyway. That’s all of the GBA Tony Hawk’s games completed now. Make a new one now please Activision. …

Tony Hawk’s American Sk8land (GBA): COMPLETED!

I’ve been playing this a fair bit today, and would you believe it – I was only about ten goals away from completing it when my game was wiped! Argh! Anyway. I unlocked everywhere again, and had to do “five old-school lines”, which I’d previously found three of accidently. Basically, there are pairs of “stickers” on each of the five levels, which denote the start and end of the lines. I was stuck with the one in the School for …

Tony Hawk’s Underground (GBA): COMPLETED! AGAIN!

Started Classic Mode (well, it’s called Arcade Mode, but I know better) this morning, and completed it this afternoon – getting all the goals and racking my stats all up to 100%. It was certainly easier than Story Mode, with only a couple of COMBO lines having any real difficulty. At least it didn’t have the stupid “restrict your skating to a portion of the level until you unlock more” thing going on that Story Mode did. Onward to GBA …

Tony Hawk’s Underground (GBA)

Completed the Mall level, and unlocked the Warehouse (yes – the SAME Warehouse again), completed all of that, won two Competition Vouchers, which let me enter a competition in Noo Joyzee, so I did. And came first, with 198 points (the maximum you can get). Nice. That opened up Battery Park, which I haven’t done much in yet. Also added a few more stats to my list. I think I only have one notch left on Rail now, with everything …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (N-Gage)

Well, Downhill Jam has me stumped. At least I managed to get past it by going back to the Warehouse and School levels and trying a few more goals (“tapes”, as they’re called here) to get the required total to open up Burnside. No, not the guy from The Bill. I recognise Burnside from THPS2, as it’s part of a larger level there. It’s a skate competition level, and it’s hard. I can’t seem to “mix it up” enough to …

Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater (N-Gage)

Yes! The original Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater. And yes! On the N-Gage! And again, yes! It is a bit crap! But I bought it today so really should play it whilst waiting for the Dreamcast and PS1 Tony Hawk games to arrive… No reverts. No manuals. No lip-tricks. No “tweaking” tricks. No backflips, forward flips or rolls. No balance bar (you have to rely upon the wonk angle of Tony). It’s a bit “old school” and no mistake. I also …

Tony Hawk’s Underground 2: GROUNDED 2!!

It seems I wasn’t quite as close to the end of the game as I’d thought. There was actually more to do in Skatopia. Bam had to trigger five sets of giant fireworks by doing assorted tricks on them (the giant roman candle and the stacked boxes being the hardest), and after that I had to skate Tony from the top of the level to the bottom, collecting dogs on the way. Yes, really. And that STILL wasn’t all – …
